Writing, Books and Other Good Things

Lately I have been concentrating on promoting my book about my solo travel adventure to Italy and learning some marketing tips from the expert, Melissa Foster.

It has been nice having the days off to focus on this, but it is October and soon I will be getting my garden ready to plant since I live in Florida and this is the time to plant for the winter harvest.

It has been nice watching the rankings rise on Amazon but they change hourly so the situation is fluid. I am very appreciative to two readers who left such positive reviews on Amazon and am glad when I hear that anyone is enjoying the book.

I will share the reviews with you, from the Amazon customer review page.

“While this book evokes the desire to just start planning your own trip to Italy to check out all the places so artfully described and to sample some pasta pomodoro , it also offers such an empowering message: Determination and open-mindedness will allow you to have experiences far beyond your expectations. Age does not matter. – What a beautiful and uplifting book!”

“Pour a cappucino and pull up a chair. This is like welcoming your new best friend home from an experience you would like to have. And you can have it. She tells you how to do it and also how not to do it. I learned a lot while enjoying myself completely.”

Mille grazie to my readers!  Thank you all so very much!

I am also staying busy writing travel articles about Italy and other places for Beachcomber Pete Travel Adventures and Yahoo Contributor Network so there is always something to do. Italy has been in the news a lot lately with its own share of issues, not the latest of which involves the Italian people from Venice and the Veneto area wanting to claim independence from Italy. Stay tuned for a blog post on that topic next.

    Hi Margie,

I’ve got an unrelated question for you. LOL Is it a good idea to get the excess reimbursement insurance when renting a car in Sicily? I’m wanting to book one today but am not sure if I should get that or not.

Thanks for your opinion on this! Renee’
