Happy New Year 2013

I think this may be my longest period between blog posts. The main reason I was not posting anything is not due to slacking, but because I was sick. Although I had a wonderful time in NYC , when I came home I was really sick. I missed a week of work and ended up at the doctor’s office with an diagnosis of a sinus infection and ten days worth of antibiotics.

As a nurse I usually can take of myself, but this got me and it took two and a half weeks to recover. Anyway I am much better now and plan to post much more regularly.I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I have recently been accepted as a member of the Treasure Coast Writers Guild, and I have started to participate in the various area venues to sell and sign my books. I have done two so far, and this Saturday I will be in Fort Pierce at the Farmer’s Market on the waterfront downtown. I’m looking forward to it since it is an opportunity to meet people and be with successful published authors, as well as sell some books.

I must thank two followers who have nominated me recently for blog awards. I am very honored and really appreciate the gesture. Getsetandgo is one and the other is from “curiosita” to…

One last thing – I spent the weekend in Hilton Head visiting my brother Rick and my sister-in-law Monica, the ones who invited me to go with them to Italy this spring.

We firmed up some plans for Sicily and made plane reservations. It actually is not that far away, less than four months from now. More on this later.

We ate at a wonderful new Italian restaurant and none of you should be surprised to know that the name of it is Pomodori. The chef trained in the Calabria area of Italy for a year and she spoke Italian. I loved it and of course the food and Italian wine was primo!

  1. Oh, no! Glad you’re feeling better, though. Being sick over the Holidays is never fun. (And I think we medical people make the worst patients most of the time!!) Glad to see you back and posting.

It is hard to believe you can traipse all over Italy for months and not get the sniffles and yet a weekend in NYC puts you right over the edge. Congratulations on your writing career. You are a woman of many talents.

    Hello Margie!

I bought your book as a Christmas gift to myself and just finished it. I loved it! 🙂 It is so admirable of you to go on an extended tour of Italy alone. I also loved that you went all over! You definitely added many towns to my ‘must see’ list. Perhaps we could enjoy some pasta pomodoro together in Italy one day…
