I always enjoy watching local Italian artisans at work. This Sicilian is hand painting a ceramic plate with precision.
I’d love to hear your feedback. Please leave a comment.

I love the artifacts of his work and I love the background as well. But I have a question. What is the purpose of the ball attached to staircase railing by a hook? There are other items on the railing but if I could know the purpose and perhaps the name of the item with the hook my curiousity would be sated for the day.

I’ll ask around, we have a ceramic shop nearby, maybe they will know. I sure wish I had the key to “liking” these posts, sometimes I can, sometimes not! I sure do like this photo. I would frame it if it was mine.

It looks like some sort of weight, to possibly weight a piece of ceramic in place, like a vase?
