Italy is a peninsula and also has two large islands, Sardinia and Sicily, plus countless smaller islands. It is not surprising then that there is no dearth of beautiful beach scenes and seaside photos. As you know I love the beach and being near the water, so here are some of my favorite photos from the beaches and harbors of Italy. Enjoy!
Off the coast of Portofino
Harbor in Maiori on the Amalfi Coast
Maoiri beach and dock, Amalfi Coast
Beach Scene in Rimini
Marina Grande at the port of Capri
Isola Bella in Taormina
San Remo Beaches
The beach at Cefalu`
What are your favorite seaside areas in Italy? I’d love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment.
Grazie and Ciao

Love the photos, Margie! Portofino and Taormina are lovely places and you captured their charm so beautifully.
Thank you Lynn…They are so beautiful aren’t they?
The only thing I miss from my youth in Miami is the weekends on the water. Truly we came from the sea as it calls out to all of us. Italy and her islands are jewels in the seas that surround her.
Love the photos, and it’s fun seeing places that I’ve been in the mix.
It’s truly breathtaking!
I love rocks of Portofino and Amalfi!!! 🙂 but you missed the beaches of Tuscany! There are many amazing spots. 🙂

You are so right Nicola. I have not yet been to those beaches!!! Looking forward to traveling there soon. Actually yes I did go to Marina di Carrara one time !!
Brings back such beautiful beach memories of Italy. I remember staying at a lemon orchard B&B in Minori, and enjoyed the views from Levanto beach as well, which is the location of my profile pic 🙂
Gorgeous light in these shots, Margie! Really takes me there. 🙂
Belli scatti! My favourite beaches are in the Gargano area, between Vieste and Mattinata, including the Isole Tremiti. Surrounded by olive groves and dotted with trabucchi. Would love to be on one of those beaches now! Ciao, Cristina
I am always desperate to get in the sea on arrival. It is only once submerged that I truly feel I have arrived! Sabaudia is a gorgeous long sandy beach with a bit of wave not too far from the craziness of Rome. Loved your pic of Isola Bella in Sicily, brought back memories, although the shells/stones are a bit rough on the feet :), another favorite for me was Capri’s marina piccola.
Wow!!! Great photos. Will visit this wonderful place as soon as possible. Thanks for sharing this interesting post for us.
